W. H. Gardner the retired food merchant , has moved his family to the east end of town and he will get a horse and buggy for Gail . She may have to get Babe Richmond to lubricate the wheels with Mica axle grease that makes the horses laugh . - Ruth Palmer , has taken away Helen Spore's boy friend . - Janet Kappler is learning to put the film into her own camera . In a year or two more she will learn to put the angle worm on her own fish hook . Miss Goldie Spore came home from Grand Rapids for a visit in Pentwater and there were so many cars around her yard to call on Goldie that a casual observer passing by would have thought a new blind pig was opening up . - Heinie Cook , who runs the movie reels through in Pentwater theatre gets so sentimental watching the love scenes that he finds himself hugging the door post . the porch post , the lamp post or anything that comes handy . - Fern

Maynard has captured Lucille Chadwick's boy friend . - Lowell Forbear was giving a sentence in class in Mears schools . He said , " A man went walking down the street with a long gray beard " . There was a laugh.- Francis Greiner and Jimmie Lipps went u pto Charlie Neutenbaum's to to get a violin they left up there from the last dance . It was early in the evening , not very late when they knocked and the boys concluded the Neutenbaums had just gone out for the evening . They wanted the violin so they broke in through the cellar and came up in the house and they got the violin and were walking around in the house when the Neutenouums wake up and found them there . The violin was ter- ribly surprised . - M . A. Bates , the electric wire puller in Pentwater , tied a bunch of withered flowers on Della VanNocker's office door with his compliments . - Poke Greiner must have wanted his violin badly . The Ladies Literary Club in Pentwater , had nothing to do with the Shaw case as a club . It seems that one of the members was actively interested , however , as an individual - Frank Berkman in Weare manufactures wheelbarrows and crates in the winter months . If you go there to buy one of his O. I. C. special pigs you can buy a wheel- barrow and a crate and bring the pig home in style squealing through the slats . - Leo Dzur is minus some needed hardware on his farm . He ought to go to Rankin's 9 cent sale and get a screen door hook to put on the inside of his toilet door . Andrew Sauser has a wet name . It comes in handy during a long dry spell - Steve Wheeler is thinking up some joke to tell at the Loop school entertainment . Some people think he ought to moderate them , why not call in the moderator ? - Douglas Knox , is the broadcaster who is liable to burn up the mike . He should put a chunk of ice on the mike before he starts broadcasting at the next school entertainment , His rat tales are raw . He keeps them on file in a rat tailed I wonder if Miss Margaret Berkman washes the dishes with Ivory soap . - The Shelby bank of Churchill & Webber voluntarily closed its doors Monday morning as it was unable to cash in on its assets fast enough to meet the constant with drawal of depositors . If the depositors had not withdrawn their money so

rapidly their bank would undoubtely have pulled through as it has plenty of assets . There were extra heavy demands during the morning hours . The Churchills have filed a bill before Judge Pugsley asking for a dissolution of the partnership and the appointment of receivers for the conservation of assets for the benefit of creditors . Thomas Read . Rex R. Royal and Walter H. Churchill were named by Judge No doubt Pugsley as temporary receivers under bonds of $ 25,000 . things will be straightened out within a reasonable time and perhaps a new state bank will be organized to take care of Shelby's business interests . The same partners who operate the Shelby bank also operate a bank at New Era , which however is a distinct and separate institution and has not been affected by the situation in Shelby . Business at the New Era bank has gone along in the usual manner aird the business men and people of that community are standing behind their institution and co - operating to a man . - Robert McPherson , Jr. , 17 , and Louis Flood , 15 , who it is alleged broke into the cottage at Juniper Beach and were about to run away with a motorboat when they were dis- covered , stayed that Thursday night with William Viterna and then hiked northward to freedom as the sheriff was looking for them . They were arrested in Mackinaw City and returned to Oceana county . Robert McPherson was arraigned before Judge Pugsley Tuesday and plead guilty to a charge of breaking into the Winship cottage at Juni- per Beach . He told the judge about breaking into a number of cot- tages at Juniper Beach also into cottages at Kewadin and East Jor- dan . He says they stole ten watches from a store . Robert says the first time he started stealing anything was when he took a roll of tape from L. D. Estes ' store in Mears several years ago . The judge told him to go back to the jail and get pencil and paper from the sheriff and write out all the times and places he had stolen things . He is to receive his sentence Saturday . Louis Flood , 15 , is held at the juvenile detention home at the county farm and will have his hearing in Juvenile court . - One of the busy places . these days is Ben Archer's Poultry Farm & Hatchery . It is located a short distance south of the Hart cemetery . Thousands of eggs are being set and Ben turns them over with a few turns of the erank . Little chicks are hatching out and people are coming after them . Ben also does custom hatching for people that bring in their eggs and sells poultry feed and chick starter . It is a sight to see his incubators row upon row and hear his chickens hatch . He can turn over 10,800 eggs in five minutes . - adv .
